👩🎤🎬 About the Program
This week-long residency brings professional Actor/Directors to Wabasha to work with 20–55 students, creating a fully staged musical complete with costumes, sets, lights, and sound, performed by the participants at the end of the week.
The program is led by Theatre 605 Tours, which has provided exceptional theater education to communities across the region for over 25 years. We are dedicated to fostering creativity, confidence, and imagination in a safe, inspiring environment—guided by professional artists from across the country who meet the highest artistic and safety standards.
Take note of the audition details below and get ready for a week of theatre fun! This production has roles for all ages, skill levels, and experience levels. During the five-day intensive rehearsals, you’ll learn the ropes of acting, singing, and even dancing, all building up to a show-stopping performance.

Children interested in auditioning should arrive promptly at the scheduled start time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour audition session. NO ADVANCE PREPARATION IS REQUIRED. While many roles are available, not everyone who auditions is guaranteed a part in the play. The first rehearsal will begin approximately 30 minutes after the auditions conclude.
Rehearsals will be conducted daily from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Wabasha-Kellogg Performing Arts Center. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and, if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals for their respective roles. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided at the end of the auditions. Cast members attending both sessions on the same day are encouraged to bring a sack dinner or snack.
Performances are scheduled for August 28th at 7:30 and August 29th at 2 p.m. at The Wabasha-Kellogg Performing Arts Center. Cast members should arrive at the performance venue one hour before the show(s). All cast members MUST be available for all scheduled rehearsals and performances.
Theatre 605 Tours will provide all necessary sets, costumes, lighting, and sound equipment.
This residency in Wabasha is made possible by River Junctions Arts Council and Wabasha-Kellogg Community Education, with support from the South Dakota Arts Council, funded by the State of South Dakota through the Department of Tourism and State Development, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
